Indian almond Tree/ Terminalia catappa also known as the Sea Almond or Tropical Almond is one of the most common trees throughout India. The fruits are almond-shaped and green turning brown to purple when ripe. The seed within the fruit is edible when fully ripe, tasting almost like almond. Unlike the commercial almond, the Sea Almond can be eaten raw.
